The 2026 5 Day Challenge

Great news! The 5 Day Challenge is now included free of charge as a bonus for REM member organisations.

To ensure we can continue to cover our increasing costs in providing high-quality, impactful resources for meaningful action, the 5 Day Challenge will now be available as a paid-for resource. You can find full details on why we are making this change below.

Solidarity Rate (£50-£75 contribution)

Please choose this option only if the Standard Tiers are genuinely unaffordable for your organisation. We trust your judgement and operate on a values-based system of honesty and solidarity.

Individuals

There is a further opportunity for individuals if no organisational support and you can get a single user licence for all 5 days for just  £15

Why We need to be Making this Change for the 2026 Challenge

“We are not introducing prices; we are introducing sustainability. We remain committed to equitable access.”

92% think it is fair and understandable to request funding.

For the past five years, REM has delivered the 5 Day Challenge and the wider work of Race Equality Week (including over 90% of our output) for free, thanks to the invaluable support of our partners. However, to ensure we can sustain our vital mission for the next five years and beyond, we need to introduce a path to financial sustainability.

Sustaining Our Mission

We know that budgets are incredibly tight right now, especially for those organisations committed to addressing race and other inequalities. This is a financially challenging time for us as a not-for-profit as well.

The 5 Day Challenge has grown exponentially. To create, design, and deliver the 2025 Challenge and Race Equality Week—including all the resources, events, assets, and dedicated support—it cost us £68,800. We have absorbed these significant costs for as long as possible because we deeply believe in the importance of racial equity work.

To keep serving you with high-quality, impactful resources, we must now generate income to fund this work sustainably.

What Will Remain Completely Free

We want to be absolutely clear:

  • Race Equality Week itself, including all its events, support resources, and general participation, will remain completely free.

  • Your involvement, your voices, and your communities matter. We are committed to ensuring that nobody loses access to the national platform we’ve built together.

5 Day Challenge 2026 – Our Pricing Structure

To continue delivering the high-quality resources and dedicated support you expect, we are introducing a simple and fair pricing structure based on organisation size. For example organisations with 500 employees or more it will cost an equivalent of 39 pence or less per employee.

Remember: If your organisation is an existing REM member, the 5 Day Challenge is included FREE in your membership.
