Our mission at MOLA is to benefit society through archaeology – it’s at the centre of what we do and the services we provide for clients. We help the development, infrastructure and construction sectors to demonstrate the societal value and relevance of their work through development-led archaeology. This is why we place such emphasis on our research and engagement programmes, which aim to ensure that archaeology leads to meaningful research which we can then translate into the delivery of genuine community participation.
We believe that:
- archaeology should be a force for good and we must always ask challenging questions of ourselves and the world around us
- better archaeology is created when it is produced by a diverse range of people, which is why we will actively focus on recruiting more people from ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds
- actions speak louder than words and we will ensure that we keep matters of social justice central to the focus of all our work – excavation, research and engagement
We have been at the very heart of British archaeology from the start. Learn from colleagues who helped to make the discipline what it is today, on some of the most exciting sites in the country. Be a part of the team that ‘wrote the book’– our iconic site manual on fieldwork methodologies is used on sites around the world.
